Missions

Life Point Baptist Church supports the spread of the Gospel throughout the world by supporting missionaries who reach the lost for Christ, and who organize disciples into local churches. We also support ministries who help missionaries accomplish these goals. Currently, we support the following on a monthly basis:

Glenn McCarver & Family – El Paso, Tex.

Bro. Glenn McCarver, his wife Amy, and their children started working in El Paso, Tex., last year to reach the lost and establish a new church for the community. They have been active reaching out to the homeless, and have seen God gather a group of disciples who have come together to form Borderland Baptist Church. Please keep the McCarvers in your prayers as they minister in El Paso.

Local Mission Development

Local Mission Development is a ministry of Quaker Avenue Baptist Church of Lubbock, TX, which serves the churches of the Southwest Association of Missionary Baptist Churches by raising funds for building projects of missions, church plants, and churches in need. Funds are raised on an annual basis, and are awarded by a vote of the churches of the Southwest Association during the annual messenger meeting in September.

Texas Mission Development

Texas Mission Development is a ministry of Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, TX, which serves the churches of the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas by raising funds for building projects for Texas missions and churches. The funds are raised and disbursed on a quarterly basis by a vote of the member churches. This ministry has raised more than $1 million for worship facilities over its 40-year history.

Missionary Baptist Association of Texas

Life Point believes that the Great Commission begins at home, therefore we support the mission efforts of the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas, which provides salary support for missionaries living and working within the state of Texas.

Current Texas mission projects include church plants in San Antonio, Mansfield, Kerrville, Tyler, and Austin.

Steven Haney – Texas Tech MBSF

Bro. Steven Haney has been instrumental in the start-up of the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Under Bro. Haney’s leadership, the MBSF has been recognized as an official campus organization and has installed a set of officers, making the club a student-led organization. The mission of the MBSF at Texas Tech is to provide Christian students an avenue to fellowship and enjoy campus life, and to evangelize the lost.

Bro. Juan Gallegos – Del Rio, TX/Acuna, Mexico

Effective Jan. 1, 2020, Life Point began supporting the ministries of Bro. Juan Gallegos, missionary to Del Rio, Texas and Acuna, Mexico, as well as his work through the Central Baptist Seminary of Acuna. Based in Del Rio, Bro. Gallegos serves as missionary pastor or Berea Baptist Mission of Del Rio, an upstart church reaching out to the local Spanish-speaking population. He also serves as administrator to Central Baptist Seminary of Acuna, which trains Mexican preachers and missionaries for ministry in Mexico and to the Spanish-speaking population in the United States, and supports missions at various locations in Mexico. Bro. Gallegos has also been instrumental in redeveloping missionary efforts in Peru and in the Amazon region of South America.

Rachel Acker – Missionary Intern to Thailand

Rachel Acker traveled to Thailand for the summer of 2019, working alongside missionaries Rusty and Susan Teer in Chang Mai. She assisted the Teers in teaching English to Thai school children. Her 2020 missionary trip was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her trip in 2021 was confined to a southern island in Thailand due to COVID precautions. She was able to use her time to minister on the island and provide Bible teaching worldwide via Facebook Live. Details on Rachel’s future travel plans to Thailand have not been determined.

To donate to any of these missionaries, please send a check to Life Point Baptist Church, PO Box 3134, Early, TX, 76803. Put the name of the missionary on the memo line. 100% of donations designated to missionaries will be sent to the missionary.
